The Walker Budget Is Already Working! Part CLI

The Scott Walker success stories keep rolling out:
APS Healthcare announced it will lay off 133 employees in Brookfield as a result of the acquisition of the company by Universal American Corp.

The staff at 300 N. Executive Drive will be reduced by 65 percent due to the acquisition of APS by Rye Brook, N.Y.-based Universal American. Universal American is consolidating the combined company’s functions.

The layoffs will take place mid-October through June of 2013.

APS Healthcare is based in White Plains, N.Y.

The company was acquired for $227.5 million in March.

APS Healthcare is a provider of specialty health care solutions primarily to Medicaid agencies.
With all these layoffs, the 47% in Fitzwalkerstan is really about 99.99%.

  1. Oh we can almost bet that Walker will blame the ACA for this, and then remind everyone why it's "toime" for them to vote for RMoney.

  2. Well, I would credit the ACA for all of this. Scooter gets off the hook this time.

But this is a good thing. This is evidence that the cost containment provisions of the ACA are actually having an effect. We all will benefit in the end.
